Service Description
S.P.A.C.E. Masterclass – The Art of Improvisation Song Focus: Aminti Billah (Baladi Progression) Improvisation is the soul of Baladi — raw, rooted, and deeply personal. In this drop-in masterclass, we explore the art of improvising to a Baladi progression using Payal Gupta’s S.P.A.C.E. methodology, with a focus on Earthy and Contrast movement qualities. Set to the beloved classic Aminti Billah, this session is about feeling the music in your bones — not just dancing to it, but dancing with it. In this 120-minute class, you will: Learn the emotional structure of a Baladi progression Use texture-based improvisation tools to respond to changes in rhythm and mood Deepen your expression with grounded hipwork, weight shifts, and rhythmic play Explore dynamic opposites — heavy vs. airy, still vs. sudden — through guided prompts Build confidence in musical interpretation without choreography Class includes breathwork, musical breakdown, structured improvisation, and personal reflection. No recordings will be shared — this is a real-time, embodied experience. Open to advanced, semi-professional, and professional dancers. Duration: 120 mins | Mode: Online + In-Studio Let the rhythm guide your choices. Speak your truth in movement. Each class stands alone. No prior sessions required.
